Back in BALANGAN Beach, planning the next destination...

A sunny day was waiting for us in Balangan with a really nice swell...

Funny story. I (Lore) was lying on the beach and suddenly saw next to me Luciana, a friend of Martin's cousin (Angie) who I had met last year in Formentera. It's a small world... She was happy to find us since her boyfriend (Benja) was all day surfing and she was a bit bored already spending all days alone.
At night the we all went for dinner to a Thai restaurant they recommended which was excellent. First taste of the spices that are waiting for us in BKK, god it was hot!

The next day we profited we had a car and went to visit other beaches. The first stop was ULUWATU, a very famous beach for its brakes (surfing term). The place is particular, there's not much beach, just a cave that in hight tide is full of water and at low tide you can lie on the sand. The town is up on the cliff. Surfing was fun but too crowded.

Beto, te encontramos en Uluwatu !!!

After we went to PADANG PADANG, another famous beach for surfers. Here we didn’t find waves but Lucas met some friends from Australia, the world keeps shrinking!

We should talk a bit about some people we met. The “swiss group” is worth to mention since we kept meeting them. Lorenza & Matt, travelers heading to Argentina soon, Thomas & Jorge, friends that met them in Indo to catch some waves. Lovely group of happy people, they were staying in the blue guest house of Balangan, our neighbours… Another memorable character was Alberto, Spanish guy from Valencia, he was sort of stuck in Balangan. He was too comfortable there having a “contemplative” time before going to work to Australia.... That night was the goodbye dinner for Thomas who was heading back to Switzerland. Great character, always with a smile and something funny to comment. We joined them and Alberto to have dinner in a fancy hotel of the area, where we enjoyed some nice food, wine and stayed until the waiters were falling asleep and pushing us out. Some beers followed at the beach, Martin and Alberto ended up going to sleep at 6 am after a wide conversation about politics, football and life.

The following night there was again a goodbye dinner, this time because we were leaving and then Matt and Lorenza were heading to Bariloche for 3 months to improve their Spanish and maybe share some hot wine culture with Argentineans. And Alberto? We don't know, maybe he's still in Balangan!

(Unfortunately we have no pics of these new friends, if they send any we[ll post them!)
