Road trip BALI -part 2- (17-28/05/2010)

We left the last chapter in BALIAN Beach, our first stop on the west side of Bali.
We forgot to mention about some recreational activities that took place while we were there: from long hours of card games (Maquiavelo & Rummy), to sessions on the WI of tennis, bowling and golf.
Although the stay in BALIAN was very pleasant, we had to move on to our next destination:
MEDEWI Beach, upper north on the west side of Bali.
Black sand and stones, big and "surfer-friendly" waves are an accurate description of this place.

We made our way through amazing rice fields next to the coast until we reached the beach, completely empty. This beach was a friendly place, full of surfers and with good budget hotels and meals, unlike BALIAN where all hotels were rather fancy and expensive, but friendly as well.
The 4 of us profited of the cheap massage (1 hour -> 4 US$), worth trying when in Bali.

After a couple of days in MEDEWI we got in the car to continue our way, this time we had less idea of where we wanted to go and what we wanted to see, so we just sat on the car and decided on the spot "lets go north".
After some hours driving we stopped for a meal near LOVINA Beach, in the north of Bali. Despite the non spectacular beach we found a restaurant right next to the sea, mainly with local people, where we had a delicious fish, straight from the ocean to the grilled.

This strong meal left us lazy and some locals recommended us some hot springs a few km away from there. We got there and enjoyed long hours in the water, luckily while it was rather empty, because when we left the pools were already full with locals (who usually bath with clothes on) and the site was not that tempting anymore...
